Louis DiLisio Jr.

Lou DiLisio Jr. grew up in a family owned collision repair business that was started by his grandfather in 1932. He spent his life working in the shop going from floor sweeper through all the ranks. In 1979 Lou opened his own collision repair shop and operated that business until he chose to close the business in 1995 to pursue other interests

Lou was involved in numerous activities in the collision industry, which included 5 years as president of the Westchester - Putnam - Rockland Auto Body Association and Vice President of the New York State Auto Body Technicians Association. Lou has also participated on a number of committees such as the ICAR Uniform Procedures For Collision Repair, The New York State Repairability Committee, National Auto Body Council, Various Collision Industry Conference (CIC) committees, Allstate PRO Advisory Board, and many others.

Lou began consulting in the mid 1980’s and opened a fraud investigations company working with insurance companies during that time as well. In 1992 Lou began consulting with CCC Information Services in the development of Collision Center Connection and after 2 years as a consultant, he chose to join CCC as a full time employee and manage the Collision Center Connection Program. He closed his body shop in 1995 and moved his family to Illinois. In 1997 Lou left CCC to continue his pursuit as a collision repair consultant and joined Carter & Carter International as vice president of the US operations.

In July of 1999, Lou left Carter & Carter and opened his own consulting firm: Automotive Industry Consulting. His consulting company works with insurance companies, vehicle manufacturers, refinish paint companies, body shops, salvage vendors, aftermarket parts manufacturers and distributors and equipment manufacturers and distributors in a wide variety of services including strategic and tactical planning and implementation. Lou’s strong operational expertise is instrumental in helping his clients find realistic solutions to their business challenges.

Lou also continues his involvement in the collision repair industry as the incoming chairman of the Collision Industry Conference (CIC) and on other various committees.
